WIP Wednesday: Sharing stories

I am so incredibly proud to say that I've inspired others to spread awareness for childhood cancer!

Head over to Confessions of a Fabric Addict to read Sarah's beautiful story about Savannah.

For my post card swap I sent a card made by my cousin Vanessa and a post card that I created to mirror Vanessa's drawing.

I sent these cards to a lovely woman named Wendy in the UK. She shared Ness's story with the rest of our group to bring awareness to our whole group! It makes me feel really good knowing that I inspired these women to bring awareness to those around them!

So my major WIP this week is my Buttons baby quilt. I've started FMQ on the quilt but hit a wall. I got so frustrated working on it this morning I had to walk away.

My thread keeps doing this, shredding. What gives? I read online that I need to re-thread the machine, so I did about 20 times. Then I read it's the tension, but my tension is fine. So then I tried cleaning and oiling the machine, and you're not going to believe it, that made it worse. What the heck????
Well once my frustration blows over I hope to finish this by Friday.

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

Today I'm linking up with WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced.

Quilt on,

  1. Ugh!!! I HATE that. Nothing more discouraging than problems with the machine. Sometimes it's just a needle-change, too. Sure hope it has finished pitching its fit. Mine pitched a fairly spectacular one yesterday, but all of the above got it to be happy again. Good luck!

    1. I forgot to mention that I did change the needle! Glad your machine is better now, mine's being so stubborn!

  2. You might try changing your bobbin - a bur on the bobbin might cause that and hopefully that's all it is. Is the thread old? It can go rotten, too. If it keeps up, you may need to get it checked out - the bur may be on the bobbin hook, which takes a repairman....

  3. Twice this has happened to me...

once, the bobbin just wasn't wound quite right. I figured something was wrong because it was making a "poping" sound.

the other, I tried everything and was ready to head to the shop. Realized I hadn't tried a different needle.... yep. that's all it needed.

Hope your problem is that small too!

Comments are much appreciated, I love to hear from you!
