Fail Opening

OH NO!

I made a big mistake when linking my bank accounts to pay pal, and should have verified this days ago... oops. Due to my huge error the grand opening of the Hoppi Quilt Shop will now be held on Wednesday, June 18th. There will be a few give away items so please check back for the fun and how to enter!

I am so incredibly sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. If you'd like to view the items that will be in the shop feel free to check my facebook page or portfolio in a bit.

If you do have a quilt top that you are interested in having me quilt, please contact me via email at hoppipollaquilts (at) gmail (dot) com.

Thank you so much for your understanding!

A busy weekend can't stop me!

Whew this weekend has been so busy and SO fun!

On Friday I took Madison to the Velodrome for the Dog Days of Summer event. She had a blast. Here she is with her cousins Kyra and Vanessa.
It was Keirin Cup, which is one of my favorite races, so we had a super good time. There was one little crash, but all the racers were fine!

Yesterday my good friend Lisa had her graduation party. Lisa's dog Maxx is Madison's boyfriend. They love each other so much! They ran all over the yard together and played until 9 at night! Luckily she slept really good last night!!

Today is Father's Day and I have a BBQ planned with my awesome step dad, Derrick and my step dad's girlfriend, Mary. My parents divorced years ago, and luckily my step dad Dave is amazing and made an effort to stay in my life, I'm the luckiest step daughter in the world!
Before we set off for the BBQ though, I'm sneaking in some FMQ! I'm finishing up the wine totes for the shop. I will be posting a tutorial for these at a later date!

I hope you all enjoy your Father's Day and the rest of your weekend!

It's the Final Countdown

Today marks one week until the Hopi Quilt Shop grand opening!

In one week, you can purchase quilts, and quilted goods from my shop!

I am SO excited!!!!!!!!

I stocked up on some fabric and supplies to make a few wine totes to have on hand. I have a feeling these will be a big seller. I made them as gifts for Christmas and they were a total hit!

Eventually I will be expanding the business to include quilting supplies and patterns for my quilting friends! There will be a whole new launch of Hoppi Quilts in the future, but for now, I'm sticking with the online shop.

Thank you for following me on this adventure! I'm so excited to begin this next chapter of my life. Quilting brings me so much joy, and if I could be able to do this every day for the rest of my life, I would live my happily ever after!

Today I linked up with Stitch by Stitch.

Hands to Help - Happy Chemo - The Babby Has Arrived!

Whew! I finally have a minute to breathe! Let me first reflect on the past three weeks, the happiest of my life.

Firstly D and I moved into our own place back on May 18th. It has been such an amazing adventure. I LOVE living alone with him. It's just that feeling of independence, I finally feel like an adult!
Second, D started school May 22nd. Not only that, but he's been getting A's on everything and he absolutely loves it! I am so incredibly proud of him and happy for him!
Here comes the big ones!!! Our engagement on May 25th! Wowza, I did not see that coming! Of course I knew we'd be engaged eventually, but not that day!!! It was the best surprise I have ever gotten!
Fourthly, babby Geo! Tuesday, June 4th George was born weighing in at 6 pounds 1 ounce of pure love! He is the sweetest baby ever! Congratulations to our closest friends Taylor and Suravi, we love you! By the way, being an auntie is SO fun. Spoiling Geo is becoming a new hobby of mine!

There's even more to celebrate in the coming weeks, such as the grand opening of the Hoppi Quilt Shop on June 18th, huzzah!

Now, to my Hands to Help quilt for Happy Chemo.

I couldn't decide which backing I liked better, so I did both!

A HUGE thank you to Sarah C. for putting on this amazing charity drive for all of us quilters. My quilt is going to go to a cancer patient who is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments. I'm not sure what the final measurements of the quilt are exactly. I mailed it out yesterday and seem to have misplaced the piece of paper that had all the info down, including spools of thread used and amount of fabric! I believe it was around 48x50. The minimum size was 45x45, I made it small so that the recipient can actually bring this quilt to chemo treatments and snuggle up. Chemo isn't exactly the most comfortable thing in the world, so I hope to bring at least a bit of comfort to this person's life. I used 100% organic bamboo batting and prewashed all the fabric in organic home made laundry detergent. Being clean when you have cancer is kind of a big deal!

It feels so good to know that I'm bringing joy to someone who is going through something so horrible. I included a gender neutral get well card with a personal note from myself.

Now that work is slowing down, I should be able to post more about what I'm quilting!!!
For now though...

P.s I linked up with H2H, FMQ Friday, and Can I Get a Whoop Whoop , seriously though, can I get a whoop whoop for actually finishing this on time!!! ;)

May the Force be with You

Okay, Sudre, here it is! The mystery quilt! I don't have time to do a full post but this is a quilt I made for my friend, Suravi who is expecting a baby boy hopefully this week!

Sarah's face when she opened the quilt!
