FMQ Friday: Back in the game

Holy moly it has been quite some time, hasn't it.

I'm getting the hang of this work thing and getting into a routine. Recently, however, I've lost myself in the world of GuildWars 2 and haven't been quilting much.

Then all of the sudden at a networking meeting yesterday I met a fellow local quilter... my first. She invited me to join a guild that she is in that meets the first Tuesday of every month. I am so in! They do a "sew and tell" portion to each meeting so I am eager to finish my Express Your Love quilt to bring to the meeting!

Before I go on about EYL, I want to tell you I have a super secret surprise. Now, unfortunately I can't really tell you exactly what it is. It is somewhat quilt related, so here is a sneak peek!

I can't wait to tell you all about it! In one month, I will do so!

I've kind of put my goddess off to the side, and today I've really reflected on why I believe I did so. On May 18th D and I are moving into an apartment, on our own. This isn't the first time we'll be living together, obviously, we've been living together for over 2 years now. However, this will be the first time we'll be living alone, no roommates, no mother. Wow.

I guess I have anxiety over it.

Whenever I have anxiety that I don't want to face I submerge myself in a video game or television show. I thought that quilting might be the same way, but it turns out it's not. I think the reason is this; Express Your Love really brings out the truth buried deep in my soul.

I don't want to have anxiety over this. I desperately want to live with D alone. We've most certainly been dating long enough, and we've been living together long enough. This is the next step in our relationship and it can only bring us closer together, why do I have any anxiety over it at all!?!?!

I'm glad my goddess brought this out of me. It's okay to be afraid of change. Though this is GREAT change, it's still a little scary.

This is my progress with my EYL.

I just want to wiggle wiggle spiral all day every day. It is the most fun FMQ I've done yet!

I'm still having issues with my goddess' body... but I'm also still having issues with my own body. In time, both issues will disappear!

I won't promise you that I'm going to start blogging every day, but I will promise you that I'll blog more than once a week! It's good for me and good for my quilting! As usual I am linking up with Leah Day's FMQ Friday. Brand new to my blog, and my life, is Can I Get a Whoop Whoop over at Confessions of a Fabric Addict. How cute is that name for a linky party!?!

I'm leaving you with this picture of Madison. The weather has been incredible here in Eastern PA. It's like summer!

Soakin' up the rays!

Quilt on,
Hoppi

  2. Ah yes, commitment! To our quilting, to our sweeties, to our creativity. Exciting but scary too. Sounds like you are enjoying the ride. I love how your goddess quilt is bringing up so much new information for you, and you seem to be just going with it. Enjoy the ride.

  3. Found you through Whooop Whoop. I can't believe you're doing the Goddess. I just found Leah Day a couple of months ago. I'm practicing some patterns to quilt my spiderweb quilt I just finished. I'm amazed at your quilt. Keep up with it!
